SD Card Question

I know our phone supports 32GB what would happen if you would insert a 64GB Card?

Two possibilities:

1) the phone may actually use it just fine, or

2) the SD controller will only read/address the first 32 gigs.

That's pushing your luck...

I remember once putting an SDHC card into a "non-SDHC" compatible device. Yet, it had no trouble managing the entire SD card.

Similarly, I've installed drives into machines that were a larger capacity than said machine could handle. The drives would work fine, but would be left mostly unused since the BIOS/drive controller/OS/all of the above couldn't address the entire drive. I assume the same would happen here.
