SD Card Safe to Remove Error

So I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio running ICS from the Maclaw Studio thing. It's been working fine for several months. However, just the other day after I reboot the phone, the SD card wouldn't mount. It said it was mounting the SD card but it didn't work and it ended up with "SD card is safe to remove." I've tried rebooting it several times with no success. I also tried doing all of the "pull battery out, remove sd card, put in sd card, and put battery in" stuff. Nothing has worked. Anyone know how to solve this problem? I would rather not reformat the entire thing since my last backup was months ago.

do you have another card you can put in to see if it is the card or not? you can always copy it to the pc using a card reader or adapter into the pc to do it. afterwards you can then reformat it. if that does not work then you might want to get a new card.
