Help SD card size

Daft (probably) question but if I fit a bigger memory card, will it speed up my HTC Desire?

It may actually slow it down, since it now has more data to sift through to perform the same functions. The only thing that might speed up your phone is a slimmed down ROM, or debloated stock image.

Or a higher class card. Desire can't utilise higher than 6, but your next phone will - go for 10!

This won't make the phone faster in itself, unless you are rooted and have a ext3 partition on the sd card.
