Root Sd card swap help please

The terminal command? yes. With every reboot.

You only have to do the swapon part when you reboot. The partition will stay. Your data partition well remain intact. The swap ('extra ram') will need to be re-enabled when you reboot

Doesn't setting the swap path in KoumaKernel settings make it persistent?

Sry, for me terminal is easier.
I like having control that way... plus i only reboot my phone once in a great while so it's perfect for me... But to each their own. :p

on ct mod we don't have to do this every reboot, do we? just asking, and mine seems fine all the time.
just remember never a stupid ?.

Nah, kouma's app handles all that. But you could just test it to be sure.

Reboot and do
Code:
free
in terminal. If it shows, it stays after a reboot. ;)

Actually, cm7 has swap support as well ;)

Just no fancy app to set it up.

I made a thread with a flashable zip to make it easy to set up on the unused internal data partition or vfat partition of your sdcard (with help from kouma to show me i was being a dumba$$ :D ) and later figured out that one command enables it on the swap partition.

I'm running cm7 with swap as we speak. And i definitely have not once french fried when i was supposed to pizza ;)

But still lolz at the meme

I thought you couldnt use virtual memory on dev/block/mmcblk0p3 when using ssm mode. ?

:confused::confused::confused:

You can't... But what does that have to do with this? o.O

He is on cm7, and formatted his card in cwm... When he choose the size for swap, it created the second partition. This partition is swap format. It is dev/block/mmcblk0p3. it will only be able to be used for ssm if you format it to ext4... Which he did not.

Cm7 natively supports a swap partition. It just needs to be activated.
