Help sd card upgrade

Greetings, all -

My rooted EVO 4G is running Capt. Throwback's Stock ROM.

I've just bought a 32gb microSDHC card, and I just want confirmation that installing it is as simple as I expect it to be.

Here's my plan:

1. Insert new card in computer (using adapter).
2. Connect phone to computer via USB, mount SD card.
3. Copy contents of phone SD card to new card.
4. Unmount SD card, unplug phone from computer.
5. Eject new card from computer.
6. Turn off phone. Swap SD cards.
7. Turn on phone, and enjoy gigabytes and gigabytes of free space.

Am I missing anything?

i would do this:
1. copy the content of the old sd card to the computer.
2. swap the cards and put the new card into the phone
3. reformat the new card through the phone. most likely need to unmount and erase sd card. this will format it.
4.plug the phone to the pc via usb cable and the transfer back the old card's content to the new card.

Thanks - I have a couple of questions.

1 - Why copy from old card to computer to new card, rather than directly from old card to new card?
2 - Both the old card and the new card are formatted in FAT32. Why reformat the new card?
