Help SD Card vs Phone contents

This may be a dumb question to many, but the answer isn't apparent to me so I'm asking it.

How can I differentiate what files are in the phone's memory as opposed to the files in the SD card?

Am I viewing all files in both locations when I connect the phone to a PC as a disk drive?

I see all the folder and their contents but I don't know the location of them. I need to move files from the phone to the SD card as I now have the warning that the phone storage space is getting low.

When you connect the phone to a pc, you are looking at the sd card. You can move files to the SD card from the phone but would require a custom rom or app2sd. You could just free up space by deleting text thread and cache, etc.

Thanks for that info! I really had no idea if I was looking at just the SD card or both it and phone memory. I'll clear out what I can then to free up space. Thanks again!
