Help sd card

Lurker
hi. i contacted samsung regarding moving applications to the sd card. i was told that only applications that are 1gb or larger can be moved to the sd card. then, i read on one of the posts here, that you can install an application that backs up applications, and then you can move apps to the card. i did this, but i still cannot move anything except photos to the sd card. why in the he** would i purchase a 16gb sd card, and only be able to store applications over 1gb? am i missing something here, or just terribly obtuse?

You need to be rooted to move and run apps from the SD card. Basically when rooted, users have the Note 2 recognize the external SD card as being an internal one. Or they have use directory bind to point to the SD card.

Samsung lied. All installed apps cannot be moved to the SD card (regardless of size). One way around it would be to have developers support download and install onto an SD card. Bard's Tale is a fine example where it bypasses the Google restriction (yes, Samsung honoured Google's request to remove this function). When first launched, it'll ask you where you want to install the data (and it will correctly detect your external SD card). Garmin Navigon is another where it can detect maps moved to external card.

So far, I've been moving data back and forth between card and internal memory. Apps that I don't need are moved to the card. When I need them, I move them back to the internal memory. Unfortunately, it takes time to move them before you can use them.

I am not rooted and this is probably the only workaround I can find for it.
