SD Micro

Can anybody explain to me the difference between the generic micro SD cards you can buy on Ebay and the name brand ones? Is it worth the extra $30-$40 to get a SanDisk or another name brand?

Thanks!

IMHO, many of the generic flash memory sticks are just fine. If you're just listening to music on your device, you'd have to decide if it's worth it to have a name brand for another $40.

So getting one for $5-$10 on ebay from a seller in Hong Kong should be just fine? There is no way it can damage my phone or have any negative effects right? The worst that can happen is that it is slower at transferring the documents?

I just got a 8gb class 6 transcend from Newegg...popped it in my phone and it says "Damaged SD Card"...going to have to ship it back.

I have been burned 2 times buying memory on e-bay. One time the card had 8 gb printed on it but it was only 4 gb. Another card I bought stopped working after a week. Never again from e-bay. In my mind it is worth paying a bit more.

Years ago I bought a 4 gb card off ebay and it was fake. It was only a 2 gb card. So now I rather buy my stuff in store.
