Okay, so I think I have a wonderful complication and I'm having trouble finding a real answer via forums. A buddy of mine who's pretty well versed in rooting phones helped me root my Samsung Galaxy S 4G and we installed a stable and safe Gingerbread OS (2.3.2). However, once I got the phone rooted and the phone rebooted with Gingerbread I can't get anything service wise to work. The problem seems to be that both my SIM Card AND SD Drive are not being read by the phone. I can't mount or format my SD and I've tried factory resets but when I do, I get stuck in a failed boot process that just cycles forever without getting to the stock 2.2.1 OS that was on it to begin with.
So I need help! I need to get this SD & SIM issue fixed. I don't mind keeping the rooted version of Gingerbread on my phone if these issues get resolved. However I'd rather return to the stock Android OS than not be able to use my phone at all. Everything functions as it should (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Applications, Settings) except the home button. But everything else seems to be okay so I'm hoping that with the functionality of the phone still in tact, it's not bricked yet!
