SDCard hot swappable?

Tiben

The Desire S user manual says you have to turn off the phone before removing back cover, so is the SD hot-swappable or not?

I passed on both the Desire and Incredible S 'cause the back cover is a PITA to remove.. I swap cards a lot...

The back is still a pain to get off, but why on earth would you want to regularly swap the cards?
Especially with gingerbread storing most of the app data on the card, it'll surely cause all sorts of problems?

Wireless, bluetooth, dropbox, USB - there's plenty of ways of moving data to and from the phone, so I can't see a good reason.

Thanks, I'm gonna assume it's swappable like all other HTC's, except the original Desire :( The manual is just misleading, duh!

The main reason I want easy access to the card is that I use it to review footage from my helmet-cam. I have a Contour 1080P that I use to shoot mountain biking videos and this helmet cam does not have any external screen.

I discovered that 3rd party apps will nicely play the raw .MOV files from the camera, so I just swap the microSD into the phone to check camera angles and make sure the footage came out the way I hoped.

Ultimately I'd be nice to root my phone with a USB-Host Kernel and buy or make the OTG cable for plugging in my camera directly, but swapping the cards is a simple solution for now...

(I also like to bring a spare microSD crammed full of movies and South Park episodes when I'm travelling!)
