Search button re-mapping

[KOLIO]

Is there a method to re-map the function of the search button?
Actually,I'd like to make it a non-functioning button,it constantly gets in the way & is a PITA.
Glad to say that this is my only major complaint w/this phone.

I don't know how to do this, but I use the search button probably more than the home button...lol.

Gee, thank you so much for the support, much appreciated.........

Now, back to my original question:

Does anyone know of a way to re-map the search button?

I found this info for remapping, but didn't see if it requires root and it looks like app isn't available in market anymore.
