I just tried Dolphin out, and Google was the default. I couldn't find any setting to change it though.
Some browsers have a setting for this, some do not. Some that do are Firefox, NBPro and Boat. But on most Google is the default, which is also what I found with Dolphin. This is just typing the search string into the url bar. What does yours do instead?
I just don't know why I thought of that, it wasn't.....My apologies...but for some peculiar reason it gives me majority results related to USA. I live in the UK.
I think what confused me was....Settings/Search Engine/Vertical Search Engine....then one sees....Amazon, You tube, Wikipedia...and so on. No Google.
Can't quite understand.....Sorry for wasting your time and thank you.
Lol its not a problem. I think you can make google use google.co.uk by default so that you get UK results but i cant remember how lol. Someone else will know so stay tuned
If you can't make a default, put it on the speed dial. Boat allows Duck Duck Go as default along with Bing and Yahoo. I put a link on the start page or speed dial of Boat for Ixquick and Start Page. If I want to search, I use the link to their search pages.
Speed Dial is what Opera calls the page when you open the browser. Pale Moon calls it something else. I don't like those pages on the PC, but it's OK on the phone and tablet.
Here's Boat's opening page. You can delete or add to if you have the purchased version. Most browsers now have these. Firefox for computer is adding one.
Enter the URL bar and tap the search engine icon to the left. Here you can choose the search engine you prefer. The options include Google, Bing, Yahoo!, DuckDuckGo and Yandex.
