Help search play store for apps from google search bar

Does this thing even work? when you try to search for application from google search widget. If you go to searchable items in the settings you can check play store and it should display results for applications from play store .

I've tried to search for some apps using this technique but it didn't give me any result from Google play store! Strange isn't it?
