Haven't been able to get a lock on gps for several days now. Z device test from the play store seems to think the hardware is ok. Any tips on how to get my gps to find its marbles again? Thanks in advance
I should mention I've done two hard resets and had metro do a refresh on my account already. No bueno. It did work once in a row when I first got the phone.
I've had my Spirit about 6 days now. It didn't have any problem finding my Location for Weatherbug but it hasn't locked in on near here yet on SpeedTest. This post got me to thinking and I tried some Nav. No joy, it wouldn't lock in there either. (This was inside.)
I went outside and it locked in after a few seconds. Even got SpeedTest to get a clue.
With Geepus it could be anything, maybe this time of year your line of sights to the birds isn't that good.
Thanks guys I may have to fiddle with it some more tomorrow. It's been cloudy the last two days when I tried it outside. I saw some people had to let the gps "fix" apps run for 20 minutes or longer before getting a fix then all was good again.
I think I'm ready to concede a hardware failure on this. Some of the gps fix apps seem to indicate that there are 15 or 16 satellites from my location but I can't tell if they are just displaying what should be visible from AGPS data. When I ran gps essentials it says no satellites are visible at all. I'll look into a warranty replacement on Monday. Pffft!
