You need to be more specific with your question. Did you simply do a factory reset and expect your contacts to still be there? Thats not how it works. Also, where were these backups being stored? Do you have a sd card? Are you using TWRP, CWM, stock recovery? When you ask a question you need to be specific and include as many details as you can. Details details details...
Its not necessarily that simple. Did you have your contacts synced to your google account or were they just stored on the phone? Also, what method did you use to backup your contacts? If you used the built in LG Backup app you need to restore the backup after you do a reset. Also if you haven't rooted your phone and installed a custom recovery, everything on the internal storage will get erased when you do a factory reset. Any time you backup anything its best to put the backup on your SD card for this reason. I would love to help you with anything you may have a question about. I am by no means an "android expert" but I have had an LG F6 for over a year and can likely help you with almost any problem you may have with it.You've already answered my question, then. LIke most things nowadays, they don't work as advertised or the way they're supposed to. Thanks.

Actually MetroPCS has had the same 7day return policy for years. Also, I can't think of any other cell phone company that gives you more bang for your buck than MetroPCS considering that you can get unlimited 4g LTE data for 60 bucks a month. I'm actually grandfathered in on a $50 unlimited plan.I have no clue about any of the crap you're talking about.. I've heard of "rooting" a phone, no idea what it means other than doing it voids any warranty or anything else connected with the phone. So, why ANYONE would do that is beyond me but there's more morons than intelligent people anymore in this country.
It is that simple. Bottom line, again, as is with most products you buy today, they don't really do half the crap they're advertised to. We just don't live in the 80's/90's anymore when products actually did what they were supposed to and were made with integrity.
MetroPCS is THEE WORST cell phone company on the planet after Virgin. They lied to me about SO MANY things when I bought the phone. I tried to return it after 14 days and they refused.. saying they have a limit of a 7 day return policy? Since when? It's supposed to be 30 days.
LIke I said.. never again with MetroPCS and I badmouth them every chance I get

If you don't understand what rooting is or why someone would want to do it then I'll help you understand.
First, rooting is to android what administrative privelages are to windows. Root access = unrestricted control over your device.
Now for why some "moron" would want to root an android device, in this case an LG F6. For one thing, you must have noticed that this phone has almost no storage space (about 1 gigabyte of free space when you first get it.) My f6 has over 14 gigabytes of free space for apps and games. Also this phone, when you first get it, is slower than molasses in winter time. Mine is now much faster than it was when I got it from the store and has 14 times more free space for apps and games. Also, it is running android 4.4.4 kitkat instead of 4.1.2 jellybean. Plus the phone was only 50 bucks anyway so why would I care about voiding the warranty. Actually that is beside the point because if something goes wrong I can just flash it back to factory stock.
Can anyone tell me why my contacts won't stay synced to my phone when I factory reset it, despite supposedly having everything backed up?
I take vids and pics and once they're backed up to google+ they get wiped off my phone.
I'm not sure what I've said that makes you feel the need to insult me but all I've done is try to be helpful. My brother and his wife both have the same phone and they don't have hundreds of apps or thousands of pictures on theirs but they both have to delete apps and move stuff to their SD cards on a regular basis just in order for the phone to be usable. Their number one complaint is that it has almost no storage space. Just allowing the apps that come preinstalled on the phone to update will use up a sizeable chunk of its memory. If I somehow came off as being a "know it all" I apologize because that definitely wasn't my intent. I was only trying to explain what rooting is and how it can improve a low end device like the f6 because you said that all you know is that it voids the warranty. By the way, if something goes wrong and you flash the phone back to stock you can in fact use the warranty to get a replacement because at that point it is like the phone was never rooted (as long as you don't tell them that it was).
Are your contacts also backed up to your Google account? After the reset, and you've signed-in to your Google account, they don't resync on your phone? Is the "Sync contacts" option enabled on the handset in Settings/Accounts/Google/<your account>?
The only contacts that automatically reappear when I reset the phone and turn it back on are the ones that I also have in my email contacts on gmail
Okay, so Google sync is working... that's good. How are the remaining contacts stored, in the phone's local address book?
it's clearly the back up that's not.
If contacts aren't saved as Gmail/Google ones to begin with, they won't be backed up or restored by the sync process.
Here in holland you have the same warrenty on rooted phones than on the original ones. Don't know about your country...
huh?
how do you root your phone?
Isn''t it? Only since recently, so maybe also in the USA and you didn't know yet... if not I am sorry.well, I'm in the United States. Not Holland
If you are now interested in rooting your f6 I can help you with the process. This is actually one of the easiest phones to root. I am curious though about why you are interested in rooting it now. You were right before about the fact that you can mess up your phone if you don't know what exactly you are doing so I just want to make sure that you make an informed decision.huh? again.. how do you root your phone?
