Secure Text Messaging App?

Good friend of mine going thru a nasty divorce. He wants a secure text message app (like Mark Cuban's CyberDust apparently) for Android so he can text his kids without her reading them. I'm out of the loop on these types of apps.

He wants no SMS count and disappearing texts.

Thoughts/suggestions?
