Help Security: Automatically Lock after sleep - lost all options

kc0olm

Newbie
Initially, I had a bunch of options int he Security settings, under Automatically lock after sleep - like 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, etc.

Then I rooted my device, and then unrooted it. My guess is that the unroot program unrooted me more that I wanted, because I lost all of those options.

Now it lock upon sleep. How to get it back?

Hmm, simply rooting your device should have NO effect on the Settings -> Security -> Automatically lock (I'm rooted and that option is indeed still there).

1. Can you reconfirm that this option is missing?

2. You didn't install a custom ROM, did you?

3. Also, what is your specific device (manufacturer / model) and Android version?

Cheers!

I didn't just root the phone. I rooted it, with MobileGo, and the unrooted it. It is the unrooting that caused the problem I think.

I deleted the app I used to unroot it, and I can't find the name of it. That is probably what I need to do, and contact them. Something in their unroot program must have removed non-root ability to configure the lock screen.

phone: SmartMax4G
Android Versoin: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.67

Well frankly given what it is, i.e. a Chinese fake from an unknown manufacturer, and if it's malfunctioning, probably due to poor quality, good luck. There's usually no good information for things like this, because it's just not available. Also if you do actually attempt to root them, it can irreparably damage the firmware or even brick them completely, and you have to buy a new phone.

You could check with the vendor, where you purchased it, see if they have anything to say. Or contact Sam Tai in Shenzhen, but I think they're just a trading company, not a manufacturer.
