Help Security lock and Lock button

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone would have a fix for this, I set up a pattern lock for my brand new m8 and 80% of the time when I unlock my phone it doesn't make me put in my pattern. It sort of chooses when it wants to give me the pattern but most of the time I don't have to put it in. Also, is anyone's lock/power butt a little loose compared to the volume keys? Thanks for everyone's input!

In the security settings, you can select when the lock should occur - either immediately when the screen is turned off, or some amount of time after you unlock, until it locks again.

Oh wow I misread that and thought it said 15 seconds meaning if I left the phone alone for 15 sec it'd lock itself haha thanks you!
