Help Security lock & Screen lock

Hey, I got the HTC One M8, and I'm a little unsatisfied about the lock options. I want two options to be there, one is Security lock (e.g. password), and the other is to just turn the screen off. The phone has a button on top, which I can decide what is does from a list (screen lock - no lock - pattern lock - password lock...). I'd like turn the screen off (no lock) by pressing the button.. but sometimes I want to "SECURITY lock" by a pattern or so. Is there an app to put a SECURITY lock icon on home screen?
Or is there any other solution? Thanks.

Welcome to our forums! As far as I know there is no such option. Essentially what you are looking for is to not have any security on your phone, but have an app installed with a shortcut on your desktop to password lock it.

The problem is most apps that replace locks screens have their own timers and interact with the power button, with even fewer that are compatible with KitKat. I have yet to see one that only activates when you run the app. Maybe someone else here knows of one.

yeah i want the same thing too!
closest ive got to it is using an app called delay lock which you can set to disable lock screen if connected to specific wifi etc

You could probably make a button to toggle the security lock using Tasker. Could maybe add a task to turn it off on unlock as well, if you wanted it to reset after use.
