FTC To Smartphone Makers: Fix Security Or End Up Like HTC – ReadWrite

the triumph hasnt had any kind of official update for anything like security and is on a outdated os i ran across this thing saying how ftc and htc reached a agrement that htc had to patch up millons of devices. so idk if they will look at any other phone manufacturer but if they did look at motorola and saw the triumph hasnt had any kind of update do yal believe FTC would make motorola update the phone. i mean not to JB or anything like that but just any kind of update maybe they will force them to fix stuff with this phone

yea well if ftc looked at motorola and looked at the triumph and see how they did it they gotta do something

It's not based on the android version the FTC is doing there case by security issues. Now if they look at our phone and they feel that it is secure enough on 2.2.2 then nothing will happen. The case with HTC was cause their custom software allowed 3rd party apps to gain access to user information and data without consent. This is the only thing that the FTC will look for in any case. That said as long as the FTC deems the phone "secure" enough we won't get anything.Like I said it's doubtful.
