Seeing external sd in apps

I have some apps that can only see my internal sdcard in dialogs.

Can I manually enter the full path to my exteral sdcard? I'm running the Nook Tablet 8GB.
Is there a app perhaps a file manager that can show the full path to a location? In OiExplorer it shows the path as a folder. This folder does not show in some apps.
