Haven't seen anyone mention this yet... Seidio has posted pics and changed the status to "Now Shipping" for the 3500 extended battery. Looks... interesting.

In order to obtain the full capacity of your Seidio battery, we highly recommend that you leave the battery/your phone on the charger for an additional 2-3 hours after the charging indicator turns green or the battery status shows full.

I might be getting this since I do geocaching with the c:geo app and would love to have both the brightness at 100% and GPS on for 6+ hours without having to turn the screen off at all. :D

EDIT: By the way, it's only a tiny bit thicker than the 2150mah battery pack from Verizon for $10 more: Link

Wow! Im really glad I decided to just get the 1750 seidio instead of this! This thing looks like it was made 20 years ago.

I don't think it looks that bad. It's about as good as you possibly could make it considering the size of the battery and the design of the phone.

I preordered mine and its at the local sorting facility right now according to fedex so it will be here later today. I'll post some "real" pics later today and test it tommorrow after a full nights charge.

holy crap, that thing is horrible looking! i wouldn't buy that battery just for the fact that the new backing is HUGE! if i wanted a phone that big i would've bought a windows phone. jesus. i'm fine with my 1750...

Wow, I would like a higher capacity battery, but not so much that I want to make my phone look like that

For me, form < function. As long as the thing still fits in my pocket, I don't care how ugly it looks. The incredible has completely replaced any need I one had for a laptop so I use the battery intensive features a lot. Hopefully this thing will make my car charger obsolete.

Why not adhere the charger to the back of the phone? would look the same and wouldn't cost much. just the price of some velcro.

I'd rather keep a spare 1750 in my pocket. Could have used that when I was growing up to see if my Stompers could climb it - no thanks!

Ok, I am a software engineer, not a hardware, so this may not make sense... but..

Rather than make the cell square, why not make the top of the cell that sticks above the regular battery area larger (so a two step design)? If you back the upper step of the battery wider, it wont have to be as tall, and you can make a thinner back...

.. just thinking out loud.

+1

What makes this hilarious, is all the people that were saying 'Seido will make a better back cover' in the HTC 2150 thread.

Yeah... no. If anything, this is worse.

That would certainly work if Seido was making the cells, but they're not. They are sticking two standard cells into a plastic jacket.

After seeing both of these offerings I'm seriously considering hacking up my case.

By my reckoning I can buy an extended OEM battery (2150 mAh for the HTC Tilt2), cut out the back of my case, cut out the back of my silicone case, put a sticker over that mess, and have essentially a stock looking phone with a properly sized battery.

Seido, is it really that difficult to just thicken whole back casing? I really wouldn't mind that at all.

Ok, it got here. To tell you the truth its not that bad. I does in fact still fit in my pocket. It has the same nice soft material that is on the original case. The shape seems to fit well in my hand.
Here are some pics (click to enlarge):

OP(and others): feel free to put these in your first post or do whatever you want with them.
Edit: images are now correct

I'm liking mine so far. I actually prefer the extra weight, and the feel of the back cover is better than the cheap plastic feel the stock cover had. It is definitely more bulky, but it still fits in my universal car dock, and I can confirm that it fits in the Seidio leather holster that's designed for the Moto Droid with Extended Battery. Very pleased so far.
