Seidio Review Update2! New Revision - Rubberized Interior

Returned my last case and received case #3. I thought about just selling it on eBay, but I figured I'd give it one last chance. Well, after about a week, the lower right side of the case is flexing. I opened the case, and wouldn't you know it, there's a new section of scuffs along the upper edge in the lower right. Partially my fault for believing this product had been fixed.

This case is crap. Buy at your own risk. Yes there are many satisfied customers of this case, but do you want to chance being one of us who now have an Evo with scuffs and scratches along the edges?

I've used a Seidio for my old Hero and then for my Evo.

The Hero innocase was pretty good IMO, which is why I went with them again when I got my Evo.

Their Innocase II surface for the Evo is pretty bad. I don't think that particular case style protects the Evo well. Get a $5 tpu from ebay. It's A LOT cheaper, protects better and it won't scratch your phone.

I also have gone through 2 of these now, the 2nd one being the "revised" version. It only took a few weeks before it started getting loose and creaky. I don't have any scratches because of it, but the ill fit of the case is enough for me to trash it. Won't be buying any more Seidio products again. Think I'm going to try the case mate barely there, it looks like exactly what I need.

Yeah, I'm also thinking of grabbing a Casemate, but the Tough Case model. I'd let it go naked if I wasn't scared of cracking the camera lens.

I have to admit, I am tempted to keep it naked. Took the case off last night just to check for scratches, and left it off today. I forgot how damned cool looking the phone really is. Plus it's alot thinner and fits in my pocket nicely naked. Hmm.

Here's what you might expect around your power button. Note that I have cleaned the phone completely with a cloth, this is not dirt, these are scuffs and scratches in the plastic of the phone caused by the case:

Actually when I think about it I am kind of annoyed. This is avoidable. I looked into it and it may or may not be from dirt or dust, but I think the biggest one which is actually very deep, was caused by flash on the case. Flash is extra plastic that seeps out of the molds at the parting lines during injection. You will notice looking at the case that there is a parting line right through the middle of the cutout for the power button. Mine is pretty rough and over time caused this damage to the phone. These guys should be lining the top with rubber somehow if the soft touch spray isn't covering it (which it doesn't seem to be doing so well).
those photos really does tell a story

... and Seidio will deny til they're blue in the face that their case causes scratching. Which is why I'm done with Seidio products.

Got this case for my wife and it came in the mail yesterday from Amazon...it is the new version, and it is a very very nice and slim case...a lot better feeling and easier to access the buttons than the TPU case I have on mine....lets see how it holds up in the test of time tho...

Edit: to add, the black one I got also has the felt interior up top as well, same as the white one shown on the first page.

Just be sure to check it early on -- I didn't take mine off immediately after reading this thread, and I wish I had because I may have avoided having an Evo that looks like my dog chewed on it.

The new one I got (as well as the replacement before it) was also the one with the felt from top to bottom. It began flexing after about a week with a nice audible creak.
