Help Self shutting-down/restarting?

Hello ridavila and welcome to Android Forums. It sounds like you have tried all of the tricks except one. You said that you did a factory reset..yes? After your reset I assume that you also reinstalled all of your previously downloaded apps. That could be your culprit. It's possible that one of your apps is not behaving on your phone. I would hate to advocate another factory reset but but you seem desperate. I'd try another reset without repopulating your non stock apps. If your phone then behaves, you can add an app a day until you find the one causing your grief.

One other thing to check.. is the actual battery contacts. They can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. You might also inspect the contacts to see if you can see some physical problem.

I'm certainly sorry you are having such problems. I hope you can get to the root of your problem.
 
Thanks for your response and interest on helping me. Regarding the factory reset I do let the phone clean w/o any app just the factory ones, and the problem showed up. In what regards to the battery I will try cleaning the contacts.

I've also about the same problem, My Amaze is Asian version with JuopunutBear S-OFF and ICS Speed Rom installed.
The problem with my phone is that while its charging or in use, it doesn't shut down, but when idle for some time with no music application running in background, it shut down.
then it doesn't turn on unless you pull the battery for a while and re insert it,

Can anyone plz tell me what's the issue, is it battery or some culprit application?

There are various things that can be causing this:
1. The battery might be really loose. Try putting a piece of paper there or a piece of thin foam.
2. It can be kernel based like it was for me before. Try seeing if your kernel has a newer update, or try flashing the stock kernel.
 
I would like to post the workaround I found to avoid my phone restarts everytime it is Idle. The reboots of my phone happens only when it is IDLE and UNPLUGGED from PC or PowerSupply.
Topics you have to consider to apply this workaround:
1) Your phone should be rooted
2) The SU must be installed in order to grant Terminal IDE root access to Android system
3) The Terminal IDE app must be installed in order to execute the script. You can download it from MARKET.

The script to execute from Terminal IDE is:
su
echo temporary > /sys/power/wake_lock

This script will avoid your phone goes to "sleep mode" when it is idle and this will avoid Kit Kat 4.4.2 to reboot the phone.
This is not the final solution but it is a workaround that could help you.
