selling my phone on craigslist

ok well i wasent sure where to put this thread so i put it here modaratrs feel free to mve:). ok well i am selling my motorola triumph on ebay for 250 on craigslist and i have gotten two inquaries about the phone both offering 330 and 350 both via paypal. i find it strange beacuse the 350 is also offering 80 for shipping...the 330 offer also says will pay shipping but dosent say the amount. now i find it strange that both these people are offering me 100$ more than im selling for beacuse as im sure most know this phone isnt worth more than 150(i just need 300 and i have 50 there for im selling for 250) idk i just find it strange could anone give me advice?

The thread title says Craigslist but the content of the post says ebay and Craigslist. If you are indeed selling on Craigslist, insist upon a face to face purchase with cash only. That eases all fears in a hurry.

"if it is too good to be true"

why would anyone offer more than the asking price.. for a phone that they can not inspect first? this has a ring of scam to it. if they are willing to send you the payment first.. let it clear paypal and you withdraw the cash..then send the product.

I usually always sell my old phones on Craigslist. You will get several fake offers like this, trying to scam you.

Most of the time they will say "I'm out of the country" or "I'm a deployed veteran", any time someone is offering to give you a higher price and have you ship it off to them, it's likely a scam.

haha, or that "it is a gift for a friend abroad
wich he met on a business trip to Zimbabwe"

Paypal is always a scam on craigslist. I've even played around with them until i Get the fake email from Paypal. Its just funny to mess around lol. Also, never log into Paypal from an email link.

From what you said this does sound like a scam. Best way to go about this if you're unsure on how to tell, just always meet in the carriers store. if someone really doesn't want to meet there for your safety, just pass on the deal. a legitimate buyer will come along.

These scams target people who want "something for nothing". Simply put they target greed. If you advertise something at full price, that is what you think it is worth. If you decide on a price, stick to it. Karma has a way of punishing greed.
