Help SEMCCheckin Error

Hi all,

All of a sudden my X10, gives me the error nessage that SEMCCheckin has stopped unexpectedly....

This happens when I first boot up and then again once more when I open any app, I can force close it and it is business as usual.

I have not changed anything or downloaded any new apps, so why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?

I was afraid that was going to be the case. I froze the app using TB and that took care of the error message.


What problems would I have freezing it?

You have obviously done something....but finding out what that something is...that's the real problem.

Easiest way to fix all this and get it back in working order is to reflash/reinstall.

Download SEUS - Sony Ericsson - Support - Softwaredownloads - Detailed - Updateservice

And reinstall.

I hope you did some sort of backup or sync recently.

Looks like this dude did something similar....but I checked his other posts and he never posted what he did to fix it

Looks like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have.

Thanks for your help. :)

That's the weird part, yesterday was one of the few days that I didn't play with my phone.

The only two things that happened were upgrades to Beluga and CalWidget. I uninstalled both and still kept getting the error message.

So far keeping it frozen has not created any problems and appears from posts in XDA, that SEMCCheckin is one of the app that can be safely frozen.

I will post if I find out differently.
 
I've started getting that with my sony x8 and its starting to annoy me because i have no clue on why its happening. ever since the error message, have you been receiving texts alright?
