Help Sending Emails

Since changing contracts and phone to Desire S on Orange i am unable to send emails from my phone

I am able to recieve them but when i try to reply it simply will not send

i am assuming there is something wrong with the smtp settings......

does anybody know what the settings are for orange?

Which email provider are you using to send your emails, e.g. Google, Hotmail, Yahoo, your own ISP's email, etc?

Although it may not suit your requirements there is a workaround which I use successfully, and does have added advantages. I set my Gmail account to fetch Pop mails from my business email server and it's pushed to my Desire S by my Gmail app and also by my Orange mail app.

Gmail fetches from up to 5 pop addresses which I make use of. It also means you can deal with multiple email addresses by logging on to your Gmail account on the web, using WiFi or GPRS.

If you're specifically using the 'Orange Mobile Mail' app, then try this Orange link (from here) which will give you automatic settings according to Orange. (See here, too.)

If you're using the HTC 'Mail' app (or any other non-Orange app), make sure 'Login required' is checked, and that the SMTP server is entered correctly, as well as the Security Type and Server port. If you haven't already, you might want to delete your email account from your phone and then add the account again, to see if that clears any problem. However, changing between carriers shouldn't necessitate any change in the 'HTC Mail' settings.
