Your battery was at 70% and was depleted in 1.5 hours of web surfing?

Something else is to blame here--1.5 hours of vigorous web surfing should consume no more than 30% or so of battery life.

Since your results are abnormal by a large margin, I would have suggested trying to figure out what the problem is as opposed to just giving up so easily.

What other applications/services do you have installed/running?

I too was disappointed with stock battery performance. But $17 on a TP2 battery fixed that issue. It's a keeper for me.

Not sure what size battery is going to come with the Shadow, but if it's the same size battery as in the Moto Droid, I would not be at all surprised if the Shadow has WORSE battery life than the Incredible.

I had a Moto Droid for 29 days. Really liked the phone, but the battery life was barely better than the Incredible's battery life, and the Shadow has significantly more powerful hardware.

Your decision between an Incredible and a Shadow should be based on ONE factor, and only one factor: Do you want a physical QWERTY keyboard or not. That's it.

Unless the CEO of HTC ran over your dog, or something. Then I can understand considering other factors.

Not attacking OP. I agree the battery life sucks! But people have to realize that these aren't Motorola StarTacs!! They are like mini computers. Before my Eris I had a BB and I couldn't understand the battery issue. When it comes down to it. I didn't do half of the stuff I do on my BB on my Eris b/c my BB wasn't capable or interesting. I use my Inc way more than I used my Eris.

If your looking for ''perfect'' battery life than use the Inc like it's a BB.

The battery technology (available to the everyday consumer) isn't up to par yet for these 'super phones'.

I'd rather be annoyed by the battery than go back to a device that isn't as powerful.

Listen to her. These phones are mini computers. Think about if you even used a normal dell laptop for 2 hours straight...it would use probably over 25-35% of the battery...and that battery is 3 times the size of our entire phone!

It makes sense that 1.5 - 2 hours on this phone with the battery half the size of a credit card will deplete most of its life.

Good luck on your ventures...but if you think an upcoming phone with a larger screen is going to save more battery life...i think you will be just as upset when you have it in your hands.

Sounds like he probably couldn't afford the phone , " it costs me $50 a month more " . Welcome to the smartphone world .

I like how some people are taking this personally. :-) My old cell phone would go for 4-5 days without a recharge. I don't expect to get more than a day out of my DI and that's without doing any heavy web surfing. Maybe in 2 or 3 years they may invent a handheld device that will take heavy use and keep a long charge but I don't see anything on the horizon.
