Root Sending my TB back for a replacement...a couple questions first.

So my TB screen has progressively gotten "louder" as i push it. What I mean is that it cricks and cracks (sound wise) when I press it in certain spots. Mostly the bottom right corner is an issue, it almost feels as if the screen is lose because I can feel it moving back and forth as I press. Anyways, the bottom line is that I am too annoyed at it, won't live with it, and I expect a better device in my hand, especially as I have until Jan '13 before I have an upgrade, and I won't be looking for a new phone until then. SO my questions are how exactly do I un-root? What will I lose, what can I backup and preserve? When I get my new device, I plan on rooting it as soon as it arrives, will I have to pay for TiBU again, or any of my paid apps?

As long as you use the same google account you will not need to pay for any apps again. Backup everything with titanium or do a nandroid before you unroot then when you re-root you can just restore everything.

Follow the directions scotty put up in the sticky to unroot and get the right hboot back on after the replacement has arrived That way you can make sure the replacement is not worse off than the current phone you have, if it is send it back until you get a good one.

wow it really is that easy huh? I will be able to just restore one of my backups when I get my replacement back? I'm guessing bc the backups are saved on the SD...I am currently using TWRP, that won't matter will it? But once I get my new phone, I will have to re-flash that correct? as well as the warm and snuggly hboot again?

Yeah you will need to restore using the recovery you make the backup with. . When you rooted before if you didn't lose revolutionary then the root process will be much easier this time. No need to worry about what hboot you have after rooting using revolutionary it puts on a s-off hboot that will block flashes of s-on hboot under normal conditions.

Okay sweet, So i would just need to re-root...flash TWRP, restore backup...and then I am back to normal?

Yes, it will be exactly how it was when you made the backup.

that's great. I will be un-rooting wednesday night then, I won't have enough time to do it all before then. My replacement will be here on Friday. I just hung up with VZW..ANDDDD I complained about my battery life, and even though the promotion has ended, they will honor the 25 bucks for the extended battery, and I can't beat that price, so I picked that up too

I still advise you to wait until you get the replacement in your hand before unrooting and all unless you have to mail your phone back before you can get the replacement. VZW is known for it's crappy refirbs I would hate for you to unroot get a bad replacement and have to deal with going thru refirb hell like other's have for a few weeks stuck with your phone unrooted.
