Sends text to wrong person - is this issue fixed?

Well, it's been a while since I had a phone (financial problems), and I plan on getting a new phone soon - the Huawei Valiant (I know, it isn't that great, but oh well).

But I'm a bit nervous..I remember the issue that nearly everyone and anyone with an android phone started to have, the issue in which the phone sends a text to the Wrong person.

I've actually had it happen One time to me before. The text sent to my brother instead of my friend. Luckily, it wasn't a personal text.

I NEVER want this to happen to me. So I downloaded a 3rd party SMS app for that phone, and never had that happen again. However, I know some people who also downloaded a 3rd party app who Still had that same issue.

I wanted to know, has that issue been fixed? If it isn't fixed automatically, is there something I could put on my phone in order for that not to happen? I appreciate any help, and thank you.
 
Honestly, your story is the first time I've heard of it. No similar experience or story in the past 3 years for me. Maybe it was a carrier issue?

Unless it was a particular issue with the Huawei Valiant, like a bug in its SMS app? Although I've never heard of this happening with Huawei or any Android for that matter.
 
Isnt there sms apps with a delay, a "grace period" before the text sends to prevent this happening? It happens to me a lot but thats user error on my part lol. Glad my player days are over ;)
 
I know this is a bit dated but I found it while Googling the issue today since I've had it happen twice to me this week. In addition to sending to wrong person, sometimes a message comes in saying its from person A. I reply (which goes to A), but then the program corrects itself and shows the text actually came from person B. I do use a 3rd party SMS program. Phone was fine for 1.25 years but this bug has popped up since I had to factory reset it a few months ago no matter which 3rd party SMS app I use or if I use the stock one. Very annoying.

I don't believe it's a carrier issue. Androids from various carriers (from metro pcs to verizon even) had this problem.

I know people haven't posted here for a while, but if someone is checking out this thread - has this issue happened to you recently? Or do you believe this issue is over with?

I have never had this happen to me and I have used both Sprint and Verizon. I also now use Hangouts to do sms messages with and seem to have no issue with the wrong person getting a text from me.
 
Haven't ever had this issue on Virgin Mobile with Android 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 4.0.4, 4.1.2, or 4.2.2

Phones:
LG Optimus V
HTC Wildfire S
PCD Chaser
Kyocera Rise
Samsung Galaxy Victory

I've tried a fair share of them
 
Until now I never heard of such a problem. As funkylogik said you can find applications with a customizable delay. The first that comes to mind is Go sms, a free app
