sense or touchflo crashing

Not sure what does what but occasionally my phone is crashing leaving nothing but my middle screen with the background on. All my icons disappear.

I'm on a modaco 2.73. Incidentally now the official Orange Rom id out should I switch to this ?

Does the home screen not reset itself? If not (all scenes and icons remaining invisible) then it's more than just a simple application crash.

The Orange ROM won't give you anything you don't already have; the MCR is already using that build as its base.

Which MCR version are you using, and did you wipe before installing it?

Screen doesn't reset itself. Have to turn it off and on.


ROM is 273. Did the wipe first and now have about 100 apps. It runs fine apart from the crashing as described

Nope. I have taskiller !nd I can re-enact the problem by killing touchflo but after sleeping my phone and reactivating it the icons return.


With what seems to be my intermittent problem the icons stay away and I hqve to reboot

hard reset would be my next move. Bit of a bitch having to get everything back to how it was though.

Am I right then in assuming this is a generic HTC Rom (2.73.405.38), either rooted or not? AFAIK Paul never got round to repacking an Orange (2.73.61.5) RUU update.

It depends on the method. An official RUU upgrade (.exe file run from Windows) will wipe the handset, so yes. The update.zip method (as used by MoDaCo ROMs et al) won't.

However, with the issue your seeing, I'd suggest backing up your important data and doing a factory reset to see if that fixes the problem.
