Help Sense Remote App

A few week ago when I opened my HTC Sense remote app on my I got a message that the sense app was no longer going to be supported and to switch over to Peel Remote app. So I did. The Peel app has never worked right. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times with no avail. I have contacted Peel support and get no response. I figured that since HTC recommended the Peel app, it would work and be the best to use.
Any ideas? I know this has been an issue with M8 phones, but I thought it was fixed.

Universal remote for HTC One was my replacement. Supper easy to set up and works like butter. Peel never worked for me either. Moletag is the developer.

I use Smart Remote, but it is pricey.
