Root Sense to AOSP questions

I have some "normal" concerns to bounce off everyone before I
go from Sense to AOSP.

I currently am using the stock Sense ROM and I have flashed the netarchy
kernel. I have flashed and done backups with both AmonRa
and Titatnium BackUp. I have copied these two backups to a PC hardrive.

I have dowloaded but not yet backed up with ASTRO file manager.

1. is ROM Manager a good app to use for flashing ROM's?
After reading alot, it seems that there is a wider range of opinion
than I am comfortable with before using it.

My plan is to flash CM7 and Savaged Zen kernel.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but netarch is a Sense only kernel?

I want to be able to use HDMWin and Bluetooth keyboard and I understand that CM7 is the way to go for this

Using ROM Manager is a terrible idea! It has been also mentioned in the Rooting FAQ sticky.
Use the recovery or adb commands instead.

Kernels are different for Sense and AOSP.

Not familiar with "savaged zen" - what device are you using? A quick glance through their website seems to turn up references to the EVO 4G and Incredible, but I've not found a reference to the Desire there.
