Sense UI Question

SyDiko

Newbie
I've been scouring the forums for a few days now, so forgive me for asking this question. This isn't Evo specific either, but I was wondering if anyone could share their phone expertise of locking the 7 multi-view home screen to just 1 view? Is there an app, or an option somewhere in the settings, that I'm possibly overlooking? I ask, because I only use 1 screen, and find that I accidently swype to another blank view.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated, Thank you! :D

The answer is simple.. No there's no way! Using Sense.
If I'm not mistaking if you use Launch Pro you can set it up to 1 home screen only

ADW lets you add and erase screens at will. I used to have 6 screens on my myTouch slide, now I have 3, and I have just 1 on my G1, once you realize you can eliminate screens, you won't be tempted to add stuff just so you won't have a blank screen...

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it! I'll try them all and see which I like the best.

I'm looking at Launcher Pro on the Market! Does it work with HTC Sense?

I'm looking at Launcer Pro on the Market! Does it work with HTC Sense?

It REPLACES Sense, rather than working WITH it. You won't have access to any of the HTC specific widgets either, but the Plus version of Launcher Pro has some widgets that do a good job of replacing the ones you lose.

That makes sense, no pun intended. :D

(Sorry for the double post.)

I just wanted to say that, Launcher Pro is fantastic, and it's exactly what I was looking for.

Here's a mini review.

Launcher Pros (No Puns)
1) Add and Remove Scrollable home screens.
2) Scrollable and customizable dockbar
3) Similar HTC Sense Widgets
4) Conserves battery life, because of less home screens.

Launcher Cons:
1) Cant Add Folders to the Dock Bar.
- Not that big of a deal, but you can technically use the Launcher and hide icons - thus creating a folder. However, the lack of adding folders to the dockbar is kind of blah.

2) No 4G 'toggle' Widget
- Would be nice to have built-in support, but no biggie as you can download a free 4G widget that works with the UI.

3) Overall quantity of widgets vs Sense
- I don't use many widgets, so this doesn't really pertain to me. However, people that utilize a lot of widgets, might be disappointed in this area, because there is no contest between the quality (and quantity) of Launcher Pros Widgets vs Sense.

Overall,
If you're using Sense and want to make it a bit more simplistic, Launcher Pro is for you! Its free, ad-free, and very easy to install. The app also integrates seemlessly with Sense. You can also 'unlock' the app using paypal, which unlocks a few more useful features to boot.
