Root Sense vs. AOSP?

Mayhem

Android Expert
So I've been running Sense-based ROMs but have been curious about AOSP ROMs. What's the difference? Is one better than the other?

It is all a matter of preference. I for one hate manufacture skins such as sense and blur. They add some stuff but really take away from the openness of android. Definitely check one out, you can always flash back to your backup.

i generally prefer AOSP as well. the roms are smaller, and take up less memory in the phone, wich generally means faster/smoother perfomrance.

sense does have some nice featurs, some nice widgets.

its definately a matter of preference... spend a few days on each and decide for yourself :)

I agree with scotty85, AOSP roms tend to be faster. I've used stock and Das BAMF Forever, but both run slower then CM7 on my phone.

+1 Thundershed is faster at stock cpu settings than bamf 11 at 1.4/.245

Sense 3 has a really nice lock screen, sense weather live wallpaper, my verizon, and free nfl mobile. Gps may lock faster and is easier to set up.

I flashed Thundershed last night. I wasn't impressed. Then again, I'm used to das BAMF Forever so it's apples to oranges I guess.

I came from BAMF SOAB with Sense 3.0 or 3.5 (I can't remember). I liked it a lot. I just flashed to Liquid 3.2 AOSP ROM, and OMG I'M IN LOVE! So much smoother

AOSP always run better but Sense has eye candy without sacrificing too much in performance.
If anything, install 3rd party launcher on an AOSP rom like GoLauncher for speed and looks.
