Root Senseless ROM

I'm thinking about trying out a senseless Rom. However, I need a stable one for daily use. I need basically all radios, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi etc. Anyone have any suggestions for a good one? I'd also like to have switches in the notification bar.

There are lots out there, but its hard to know what's stable. Thanks!

i am planning on trying that one as well.

slimrom is appealing since hes got it down to something like 250mb... big for AOSP,but small for an htc framework,sense-based rom ;)

ive run conroms "desnsed" version, and it worked well, with the advantage of not being so stripped down that myvzw and other apps didnt work.

Scotty, what do you run day-to-day? Is there some way to do a dual boot with Android? So I could install conrom or slimrom and see what I think without having to come back to my computer to get back to Business sense?

currently im back on newts one XxX RLS 3.2.1

its very stable, and pretty smooth.my only real complaint thus far is my verizon doesnt work  but i havent put forth too much effort ito figuring itout yet. despite being a pretty big fan of AOSP,i find sense 4 to be very visually appleaing, despite the fast that i dont use any of the sense widgets and such.the menus, fonts, and u.i. is very nice. tho the rom is huge at 600ish mb wich does somewhat eat at me inside ;)

ive run conrom sensed and desensed daily,as well as business sense.

my phone is important to me atr work,as i talk on it frequently on bluetooth, and often need gps, google,or the "white pages" app to find things and navigate to them.

i play with less stable roms over the weekend, but i need a stable phone at work :)

as for dual booting android, theres not a way to do it that i reccomend. prolly the best option if you want to be able to restore backups in an emergency is to simply become s-off,and then run a permanent recovery. when s-off,you can reflash,or restore from permanent recovery with no PC. i have had to do it a couple times  ;)

Im just a bit nervous about the whole wire trick part, and wanted to wait a bit before s-off. Seems like people are able to do it pretty easy now though?

Also, on that Rom you just suggested. Is there a kernal file somewhere for me to run since ill be running s-on currently.

you can take the boot image out of the rom itself,if you wish...

or just fastboot boot recovery and falsh it. recovery will install the kernel for you if you do it this way.

So if I fast boot boot aman ra, flash the rom. It will put the PH98IMG.img kernel on my sdcard, then I boot back to hboot and hit power and it will run the PH98IMG.img and then I run the old firmware patch and I'm good?

Have you messed around with S-off much since it first became available? What is the "easiest" way to do it? Any tips so I don't screw it up:).

Thanks!

well, sorta. with s-off,you just flash the rom, period. no booting to bootloader,no trickery. the kernel is installed just like the rest of the rom. once the rom flsah is done, the kernel is installed and its ready to go.

so:
-fastboot boot amon
-flash rom
-flash firmware patch
-reboot

thats it :) its incredibly uncomplicated ;) i wish devs had written roms this way from the start, rather than all the confusing auto boot to hboot, etc.

the wire trick is tricky. but its not that bad. only tips i have, are pay attention to the dot under the hole on the left side of the phone, and make sure youre touching it with your wire. its easy to get the wire crooked in the hole,so its not touching the dot/contact. i hold the wire in place in the hole, then touch the contact at the top of the phone. count "one two" touch again. not full seconds, the touches are 1.75 sec apart,so just count "one two" touch. if you count "one missisippi two mississippi" your touched will be a lil far apart.

well, that and use a small spare sd card you dont care about.

make sure you read the troubleshooting page so youll know how to restore if you decide your nerves have had enuff and you want to quit the process

you might searc you tube for videos of someone doing the process, that may help quite a bit. there is supposedly a counter you can download to get the timing exactly right.

if you do decide to do it,you can also run the latest leak and just run the ics firmware. not only will rom flashing be easier with s-off,but you can leaks without fear, and the old firmware patch will become a ting of the past ;)
