Sensitive Headphone Jack Text Messages L

Has anyone noticed that the headphone jack seems to be extremely sensitive to motion. It seems that its worse when I'm listening to Pandora at the gym, the slightest motion seems to stop the player.

Also, when I open up text messages, the letter L by default is in the reply box... what gives?

And yes, the headphone jack does seem to be sensitive. I have a tendency to knock it a bit when I fall asleep at night and will stop whatever I'm listening to. Thankfully, this is usually after I fall asleep.
