Help Separating Notifications??

I am trying to personalize my profiles and have tried different 3rd party applications. However, MOST of them bulk "notifications" together (email, sms, mms, etc), is there a way to separate them? At night I would like to set just my ringer and sms to be audible, while silencing the rest, however, this doesn't seem possible with the apps that I have tried bc when u change the "notifications," email and sms seemed to be all bulked together.

I know in the Gmail app you can set different notification actions for each Gmail account you access and it is different from the SIM notification. I believe you can setup different ringtones and SMS notification sounds for individuals in your contacts through the People widget.
