Sept 1 Checking for updates!

Well it is sept 1 I had to cross my fingers and just hope froyo was waiting for me, you already know the answer lol


No updates :(

Dont waste your 24 wait period, I did it for us.
 
I just fired up my update.
Instead of the usual "NO UPDATES" for some reason it came back with "Ha-ha, got you!".
 
Samsung stated end of sept for the Froyo INTERNATIONAL SGS release. I wouldn't count on a Sept or even Oct release for the US SGS phones, especially when they have to go through approval of the US carriers...

All i am hoping for is an gps fix this month then froyo whenever it comes
 
I have a question: can the built in update be done across WiFi or is it provisioned via cell only? I'm always on WiFi here at the World HQ, and the updater runs and comes back No Updates, but I wanted to make sure it was even working across WiFi.

Even when you are on Wifi, I think for the update checking the phone sends a small signal over 3G to authenticate your phone as belonging to ATT. Once it auths, the rest goes over WiFi if you have Wifi enabled.
 
Very slick, thanks! BTW, the updater 24 hour check compares against, your _local_ clock, so if you roll back your time/date, you can check again (99% sure of this, though I did it really late one night so I could have been hallucinating).
 
Most if the time when I click on check for update I get the DM initialization is not ready. Check for sim card or network. I don't feel like resetting that to make it go away. Happens way to much.
 
Haha, based on the people here, I can just wait for someone to post something here, just seems more efficient that way.
 
Samsung said the gps update will be on their website to download. I dont believe there will be an OTA for the update.

Call AT&T and ask I think it only works on 3G from what I've read but I could be wrong.
 
I have friends with Verizon who got there Froyo updates on their Droid X and the Incredible yesterday. Hoping ours is coming sooner than the end of the month. Was very jealous as my friend pulled up Hulu on his Incredible and was able to watch tv now that he has Flash.
