Root serendipity 7

thanks reinbeau but where are the mods on the main thread exactly? Also i cant access the UOT kitchen for some reason...it wont load

They're all through the thread. You can click on the paperclip out on the main page to review them. June heard the UOT Kitchen hours down occasionally.
 
I've had it with this ROM. I've done fresh, clean installs twice and its still doing the same things and seems to be getting worse.

1) My screen will just randomly go black and the phone won't respond. Requires battery reboot.

2) The phone becomes sluggish. It seems to handle memory processes opening/closing about as well as Vista. In other words, pathetic. (Requires power button reboot)

3) Doesn't multi-task well at all. Trying to run Waze (social GPS) and TuneIn (AM/FM radio) at the same time, is asking to crash my phone... or FC one of the programs. (Requires power button reboot, or phone will experience #1 or #2)

I really like a lot of the features and customization that went not only into the ROM, but the original Gingerbread. This may work for a lot of people, but as far as I am concerned... its a big bucket of fail.

Too bad. I've been running this ROM for weeks now and it is excellent. No issues at all. Phone runs great and the battery use is minimal vs. the other stuff out there. Shame you are having problems.

I am going with a big bucket of success.

I had problems with every other ROM I tried. I had very little hope for Serendipity but I've been running it for 3 days now without a hitch. When everyone was saying how great the other ROMs were running, I kept having problems with them. Finally, I've found a ROM that runs well. I was convinced I had some offspring Captivate that just wouldn't play with any ROMs.

I feel like I got a brand new phone now...
 
I just installed S7 and for the most part it works great. However, I cannot access the sound function in settings (just crashes) and there is no ringtone when I get a call. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a bad flash to me. Try reflashing.
