Serious Problems

Okay, so I'm using the Samsung Exhibit (maybe the II)* and it's been fine since I've gotten it. But now, there's this problem... I don't know why it starded, or why it's doing it. But every now and then, whenever I press the power button, it will open the long-press menu, even though I only pressed it, freeze for 2 seconds, shut down. After it shuts down, it show's my carrier logo (i-wireless) and go black, each screen being about a second long. It will literally do this until it either dies, or I pull the battery.

So... Does anyone know what the problem is? :(

*This phone is terrible, not only can it barely run on it's own, you cannot even root it. I have yet to find a guide that successfully allows me to root. The reason I want to, is because I have Doodle Jump, Scrabble, Lookout anti virus, and all this crap I really do not want pre-installed (WHY DO THEY DO THIS? WHY???). It's running Android 2.3.3 (at least mine is), so you know it's SSSUPER slow, and it is always running into problem. Heavens forbid I have TWO apps open at once and I freeze or force reboot, sometimes it just reboots for NO reason! Just like "Hey, you textin' your friend 'bout plans this weekend? Let me just reboot for ya. ;)"
OH GOD... I could go for hours on how crappy this phone is... But I won't.
/* End rant

Welcome to the Forums :) We're glad you're here.

I am afraid I can be of little help but the power button thing is a hardware issue it sounds like to me so you may be eligible to have it fixed if you have insurance on it. Only other alternative I see is to save a bit of money and ebay a Google Nexus Something you can easily root.
