Root Seriously? ZVB to ZVD Update - Lost Root & Getting Error trying to reroot... HELP please

Alright guys,

So I was talking to a guy today that works for Metro and he mentioned the ZVB to ZVD update to fix the error of my phone going crazy with the touchpad sometimes just randomly pressing like a million things at once it seems or the phone just randomly shutting down.

So I did the update tonight as he said it would not go ahead and do anything with the root and the brokenout rom.

Well... he didn't know what he was talking about.

Anyways, I've been trying to reroot following different instructions found on the internet.

I also have some screen shots of what's going on but basically I am running VMWare (virtual machine) as I have a mac and also tried the mac way as well. Nothing work for either. Basically the same error and I do not understand what is going on.

On the Mac I get:

Line 57: ./adb.osx: no such file or directory Same with all the other errors. In the file though or the unzipped folder... that file is there. It does the same thing with windows.

Under the Virtual Machine of Windows 7... I can see in the "Device Manager" that there is an ADB Interface.

Any Ideas?

Sorry mind was going 1000 words a minute. Meant ZVB to ZVD update. Title is wrong of the thread.

If a mod sees this, please update the title to show ZVB to ZVD instead of AVD. Thank you.

id start by getting off the vmware. It may interfere with the Root process...particularly with the USB interface and ADB

Welcome to AF ilwakeboarder:)
For sure-it is not seeing the phone as an ADB device at all by the pics you posted. Drivers are installed:confused:

Yeah sorry to say the update does break root as you now know.
You can change the title of your thread if you like by just clicking on "edit" and then "advanced" on your first post:thumb:

Did you originally root the phone using your Mac? I know nada about Macs as I have used Windows for most of this life LOL
Lets try this: Open the program to root prior to plugging in the phone. Once you plug the phone in then hit enter to run the process. Unorthodox yes but....

I originally had a windows desktop but since then have sold it. The original root was done on that machine, which was when I got the phone over 9 months ago.

I even installed those drivers onto my iMac which is a different version of OSX, ran the same thing of the LG_Esteem_Root_v2_Linux_OSX, and received the same error on a different machine.

Phone has USB Debugging mode active and is set to Internet for the USB mode.

The phone was running well on BrokenOut V1.1 and the Blitz kernel before this update.
