Root Service has gone to crap

I've been using the V since last August with mostly great service.

For about five weeks now, my service has been horrible. Calls dropping all the time, and every phone call cuts in and out. Mostly it's the other person cutting out, but they have trouble understanding me too. Also, 3G slow and always dropping to 1x or cutting out entirely.

First, VM sent me a new battery. Then, I discovered my charger was bad, so they sent me one. Then they sent me a refurb phone. I tried it stock, then with Backside. Same issues. Applied the radio update and my average signal improved by 5-7dbm, but problems did not improve.

Now I'm using a second refurb phone they sent me. Tried stock and with Backside, and the problem is actually worse!

We have a Galaxy S on Sprint in the house. No recent issues with it. Should be using the same tower as my V, no?

I have a feeling VM is going to keep sending me refurb phone until I become to costly to keep as a customer. What can I do?

I'd see if Prl update helps. If all is good with a sprint phone then it should help

Forgot to mention, I had the newest PRL on my original phone. Never improved reception. Haven't bothered with the refurb phones.

3 different phones. So yeah, I've been pretty sure it's something with the service. Towers screwing up or something.

Thing is, my friend that lives just a couple miles from me has the same phone and plan, and he hasn't had any problems.

Maybe you are like me. I am in a literal small circle of poor coverage from Sprint - got this from their coverage map and also from my experience. I can go a few hundred yards in any direction and improve my signal.

As a fun fact, CDMA is more finicky when it comes to signal, compared to GSM. Basically it is more effected by the "death grip" then GSM, have you tried using speaker phone to make sure its not how you are holding it?

Because in my house my phone has full reception, when I hold the phone it drops to 1 - 2 bars.
