Root Set cpu VS cpu tuner VS overclock widget

Joe Eris

I've tried all 3 and I don't know if there's any difference between them. Does one work better than the others? The only real differences I can tell between them is the level of "user friendlyness" ;Overclock widget= very basic, simple, & easy to use. Set CPU= A bit more detailed yet very comprehensive. CPU Tuner= The most complicated of the 3, looks really nice and claims to do a bit more in terms of battery conservation. Whats your opinion?

i installed CPU tuner and will try it for a few days. It is a little more complicated to setup that Set CPU and has a few more functions over it. I will see if it seems to make any difference in battery or performance for you and report back.

Did you ever decide which is better for battery?

Honestly, the only REAL increase in battery I've ever seen from anything is when i switched from the stock battery to the htc 2150 mah battery. I went from 6 to 8 hours of battery a day to 14 to 16. For me, I don't feel like there's ever been an app, rom, or kernel that's made any REAL / NOTICEABLE improvement in my battery life

i tried the CPU tuner but had to uninstall. It was asking for superuser permissions everytime i woke the phone up. SetCPU has always worked for me. The only profile you really need is a screen off and maybe a lower battery or heat setting. Otherwise you really are over managing it IMO.
