Set Unlock Pattern

I recently got a HTC Hero and when I go to Settings->Security there is no option for Set Unlock Pattern.

Did you by any chance buy it used from someone else? Chances are that it is a carrier-crippled model. I remember talking on IRC to someone who was also missing some options in security settings.
