Root SetCPU Screen Off Profile

Hi guys! For the past couple of days my phone has been locking up whenever I try to unlock it. I'm running Myn's 2.2 RL4 with Netarchy 4.2.1 cfs no havs smartass. I have a screen off profile set at 245/245. Anyone have lockup issues with the screen off profile set?

By locking up, do you mean it just won't wake up, and you have to pull the battery, or does the screen actually turn on at all? Also, what governor are you using? The default should be smartass, which already scales the frequency down when the screen is off, so that you don't need a screen-off profile. That being said, set it a little higher at maybe 384/384 (or whatever it is. I think it's 384). That might help. One last question, you're not using the colin_ph battery tweak, are you?

I press the power button and the lockscreen comes on. Then when I try to swipe the screen nothing happens or moves. I actually have to pull the battery to restart it. I have it set to smartass. I'll go ahead and disable the screen off profile and set my min cpu to 384. I don't have colin_ph installed. Thanks!!

Try it with the min at 245, but without the screen-off profile as well. No sense in having the min higher than it needs to be if it works. Give it a shot. That is weird, though. Even with the screen-off profile, I wonder if something else is causing that. I know of other people who have used screen-off profiles with the smartass governor and didn't have that happen. Let me know what happens.

Ive been running this set up for a few weeks without issue. It just started happening a few days ago. I haven't changed anything. We'll see if the profile does it.

I know with smartass scaling there's no need for the screen off profile. How about conservative scaling?

Does the scaling of the screen off profile have to match the scaling of the kernel? Right now my screen off is set to on demand and the kernel is set to conservative.

No, you can change the governor to whatever you want in any profile, but if you make the min and max the same thing, it won't make a difference. Otherwise, you may as well use conservative for screen-off. It seems to bias towards the lower frequencies, which is what you want when the screen is off (again, assuming you aren't just using the same min/max values).

On my screen off profile I have it set to the same min/max of 245.

Out of curiosity have you seen much difference in battery life between conservative and smartass scaling? I know netarchy went back to conservative scaling in his latest kernel stating that the battery doesn't drain as fast when the screen is on.

Eh, not really. The battery drops pretty quickly with the screen on no matter what. That might have something to do with the fact that I have it overclocked, though. The only difference I ever noticed was that everything was slightly more laggy with the conservative governor. I use the smartass governor with pretty much any kernel I try. ymmv, obviously.

Have you tried the SBC kernels at all?
