Root Setting dates & times...

I haven't seen any specific reference to this:

On my Eris, when I go to add a calendar event, whether in the stock calendar or something like Calendar Pad Pro, the interface gives me a series of scroll wheels, something like an old cylindrical bike lock.

When I tried a sense-less 2.2 ROM, this interface was replaced with much less efficient UP and DOWN buttons, to cycle through digits one at a time.

Is the "scroll wheel" interface a function of Sense UI, and is there any third-party way to implement it? I think it's really the ONLY aspect of Sense that really affects how I use my phone in any essential way...

Using scroll wheels are pretty much a copy of the way the iPhone does it, isn't it?

I spend about 90% of my time running a 2.2 vanilla ROM but, of course, you ask this when I happen to be on xtrSENSE. However, if I am not mistaken, you do not need to use the +/- controls in vanilla Android - you can just type the numbers that you want in the data fields.

I'm not sure about third party calendar interfaces myself, because just typing is good enough for me.

I haven't found anything as of yet, but I gave up searching after I got to liking the fact that I could just bring up the keypad and type the number in instead of tapping or scrolling to it.

And yes, the scroll feature is a Sense implementation.
