Setting Default Browser

Whenever I click on a link in my mail, or one in an article, the link always opens in the phone's native browser. Is it possible to have it to open instead in my Opera browser? I have tried going into the native browser app and clearing the default tab, to no avail.

You should be able to go into app settings, find the Browser, tap it, and select "Clear Defaults". Then the next time you try to tap a link, it'll ask which app you want to use. From there you can select if you want to use said app only once, or make it the default for that action.

I tried that as I stated in the post, which does not work. I just tried it again though, and it still doesn't work.
What I did so though, was to go to the Internet app, and clicked "Disable", which did work. Only thing now though, is that the native Internet browser icon is now gone from the app drawer. Did disabling it uninstall it, or is it just hidden away someplace?

When you disable an app in ICS, you're basically hiding it from the entire phone. It's not uninstalled, but it can't be used until you enable it. You usually don't need the default browser for anything, though

For real. That native browser is slow as hell. I don't think I've actually ever used it on purpose.

There is supposed to be an app associations menu in the settings because of the Apple lawsuits. All of the roms take that out and let android do its default behavior which is to ask you what app to use.

You're right. Never notice that before.
Thanks
