Root Setting Go Contacts As Dialer

I downloaded Go Contacts and Go Dialer, but when I dial a number I think it's using the stock dialer.

Is there a separate dialer for Go Dialer? If so, how do I set it as default?
 
Did you clear defaults? If you are using a sense rom you may need to change something in Rosie
 
I think it does, I've not used go contacts for a few months but I believe it has a built in dialer, if you go to go contacts and press the dialpad button on the bottom does it pull up the stock dialer or one within go?

You may want to try a theme for the dialer if there are any out there so you would notice if it was stock or from go

It uses the Go dialpad...but when it dials the program it uses says "Dialer" in the top left corner...
 
Hmm...I am thinking it must use the stock dialer apk when actually in phone calls...I don't know what else to try, I can't troubleshoot on my phone currently. If you really want to test something you can use root explorer and rename the "phone.apk" in system/app to "phone.apk.old" and reboot then try to use go to make a call if you just get a force close or something like that change the name back to phone.apk and reboot again, if it still uses "dialer" then I'll try to find something else, if it works as you want it to then that may be the solution. You may wish to make a nandroid before renaming if you want to be extra careful but usually just changing an ext will will not cause bootloops ;)
 
I use GO Contacts and mine works fine--it changed both items in the dock.

If I hit the "Phone" app in the drawer it goes back to the stock dialer.

I think you just need to remove the defaults from the app "Dialer".

The defaults n Dialer were cleared. I downloaded a shortcut to Go Contacts EX to my desktop and clicked on it to dial. I selected "Go Dialer EX" as the dialer, and it still used the default dialer.
 
Are you using launcher pro or adw. I just downloaded go contacts ex pressed the phone shortcut in the dock for LP it prompted to set default and worked fine.
