Help Setting notifications for text only, not e-mail?

I just rec'd an S4 to replace my Evo 4G; overall pretty impressed and in the process of setting up how I like.

Can I set the notification chyme for Text messages only and have silent for e-mail? I only see the one notification field to set as silent that apparently affects both text and e-mail.

Do you want Email notification off completely, or just the alert sound?
I assume you are using the Gmail app?
launch Gmail, go to menu, setting, your gmail acct, uncheck notifications.

by doing this you will not get any push alerts/notifications.

Thanks Shan, I was only focused on the phone setting pathway and didn't think of settings within e-mail - just set e-mail for each account to silent.
